ke then returned to be a homemaker. She was an avid Jesus fan who enjoyed shopping, planting, card games, having pets, collecting dolls, fishing, watching the weather and Christian TV; gymnastics & figure skating (especially during the Olympics), listening to Southern Gospel & Gospel music and spending time with her family. Virginia was a member of Broadway Assembly Church in Lorain, attending regularly. She sang in the choir and helped in the kitchen at Camp Blessing in Sheffield, a ministry of the Church. Virginia was a previous member of First Baptist Church of Sheffield Lake, attending regularly and sang in the choir. She is survived by her 3 children, son, Eric (Melissa) Swanson of Columbia Station, daughters, Mary Eshleman (Walter) of Lorain and Victoria Swanson of Sheffield Lake, grandchildren, Anna, Kayla, Hope, Nicole and Walter Jr., sister Barbara and brother in law, David McNeilly of Middleburg Hts. Ohio, two nephews, David, and Daniel, and one niece, Annie and several great nephews and great nieces. She was preceded in death by her baby daughter in 1966, her Father "Pete" in 1982, Mother Mary in 1992 and Husband of 47 years, Gus, in October of 2013 and her nephew Michael in March of 2015. The family will receive friends on Thursday, March 1 from 6 p.m. until 8 p.m. at the Broadway Assembly Church, 5495 Broadway, Lorain, OH 44052 and on Friday, March 2, 2018 from 11 a.m. until 1 p.m. at the Church as well, where funeral services will follow at 1 p.m. with Pastor Matt Jones. Interment will be in Elmwood Cemetery in Lorain. Donations may be made to Broadway Assembly Church Missions, First Baptist Church of Sheffield Lake Food Closet, or the Alzheimer's Association.
