Nels Eugene Lunde, a Concrete resident, passed away Tuesday, April 3 at Skagit Valley Hospital in Mount Vernon.
He was born in Sedro-Woolley on August 2, 1949 to Nels and Kathryn Lunde. Nels Eugene grew up in Mount Vernon where he graduated from Mount Vernon High School in 1967, where he holds the Pole Vault record at 13 feet 6 inches.
He worked most of his life as a carpenter in Washington and Arizona. Nels Eugene has a love for family, friends, and travel. He would never think of passing up The Hub in Concrete. He will be missed by all.
Nels Eugene is survived by his sister, Gretchen Lunde Stewart, his daughter Kristin Lunde, 3 nephews Dana, Nathan, Clair Stewart, Niece Brenda Stewart and many lifelong friends.
He was preceded in death by his parents Nels and Kathryn Lunde, his brother Leon Lunde.
A small family service will be held in Bow. A celebration of life gathering will be held at 2PM Saturday, April 14 at The Hub in Concrete.
