day I'm going to have lots of babies." That prediction of a beautiful vocation came true when she met and married "the boy next door", Pat Gogerty, son of Berry. Neither of them would have guessed just how true that would be or that those babies would be some of Pappy's grandchildren! Pat and Ruth farmed in partnership with Pat's brother Rex and wife Kay until Pat died in 1981. Ruth continued to live on the farm until her illness required moving to assisted living in Ames in 2002. Ruth loved her children, 24 grandchildren and 31 great-grandchildren and was always happy to have visitors. She lived her life joyfully and never complained when things were tough. Ruth was preceded in death by her parents, husband Pat; sisters Edna, Betty, Audrey and brother Lawrence, granddaughter Michelle, and great-granddaughter Adalyn. She is survived by her sister Gail, sister-in-law Doris, brother-in-law Rex, sister-in-law Kay, all nine children, and numerous nieces and nephews.
