ed the art of shorthand during high school, Carol became an excellent executive assistant where she served many companies and executives, including the Council Bluffs Community Schools Superintendent's Office from 1946-1950, Blue Cross-Blue Shield of Denver Colorado from 1950-1953, Hardie Manufacturing Co. from 1953-1956 in Los Angeles helping to make the first artificial snow in California and Boeing Aircraft from 1960-1962 in Seattle where she issued the press release for the launch of the first Boeing 727. She proudly served as executive assistant to Wayne Vincent of Planned Benefits Services from 1980-1991 in Richmond, Indiana, culminating with her promotion to Vice President of World Life Insurance in 1989. Her civic and organizational affiliations included: Richmond, Indiana Music Boosters as president and the Richmond Symphony Orchestra as board member. Carol was a member of the South Omaha, NE Eagles Aerie #154 Auxiliary and a volunteer at the Senior Center of Council Bluffs. In addition to her parents, Carol was preceded in death by her husband, Wayne A. Lukken in 2006 and her sister, Helen L. Barritt in 1996. Carol is survived by her daughter, Nancy Lukken Plumer and husband Charles of Highland Village, Texas; son, Walter L. Lukken and wife Dana of Washington, D.C.; grandchildren Emily Plumer, Will Lukken, Paige Plumer, Grace Plumer, Genevieve Lukken and Crawford Lukken.
