Korea (32nd Infantry Regiment) and 2 tours in Vietnam primarily in counterintelligence and administration. He was a military man at heart. He was deeply impacted by the experiences of war yet enjoyed his time in the military, especially his many years in Germany. Some of his military awards and decorations included: Bronze Star, American Campaign and European-African-Middle Eastern Campaign, medals, National Defense Service Medal and many more medals, citations and badges. He was very proud to serve the United States Army. Additionally, Gordon worked as draftsman making maps, as a graphics lead Illustrator for Boeing Defense, and supervisor of mechanical drawing. He loved working on projects at his Lake Forest Park home, spending time with younger brother Bruce especially their real estate ventures. He was an accomplished artist. Gordon loved his family although he never had children of his and was known as a generous and helpful person to all he called friend or family. Gordon is survived by nieces and nephew Cheryl Charles, Kelly Dukes, Lore DiFrancesco, Debra Bordsen, Joanne Longley & Gary Turner; great nieces Sharon Turner, Sandy Waller and Suzanne Pihlman; and sister-in-law Lois Brown (Bruces wife) & his half siblings Charles Brown & Dorothy Eney. A memorial service and lunch is planned April 29, 2018, 11:00 AM at Anderson Plaza, 17201 15th Ave NE, Shoreline, WA.
