d Methodist Church in Akron. She and Ray belonged to the Elk's Club in Arizona and she also was a member and past president of the Junior Women's League in Arizona. In Iowa, she was also a member of the Federated Women's Club and the Rural Home Culture Club. Ramona liked to golf and was a member of the mixed and ladies' league. She also loved to garden; she had large flower and vegetable gardens. She canned lots of vegetables from her own garden. She was a wonderful cook and baker. Ramona was a talented seamstress: making clothing for her family, doll clothing, and hand stitched quilts. She made many quilts for her family and several for church fundraisers. She loved playing bridge and dancing with Raymond. Ramona and Ray had taken some dance classes, but they had a very natural rhythm together and went to countless dances together over the years. Ramona would dance wherever she heard music: whether it was at a party, in their kitchen, or on the sidewalk at a town festival. "Rock Around the Clock" and "In The Mood" were some of their favorite songs. Ramona is survived by her husband, Raymond; children: Cherry Reece of Hawarden, Iowa; Pamela (Ken) Amick of Mesa, AZ, Deborah (Robin) Heeren of Akron, SD, and Scott (Kathy) Weenink of Akron, Iowa; 7 grandchildren; 10 great grandchildren; sister, Elizabeth Oliphant of Cedar Rapids, IA; siblings in law: Fran (Russel) Kraus of Centennial, CO and Edwin Mitchell of Alton, IA; and many nieces,nephews, and extended relatives. Ramona is preceded by her parents; sister, Marian Mitchell; son in law, Harlan Reece; siblings in law: Russ Weenink, Ron Weenink, and Mary Vasa.
