Thomas Lee Kunde, 56, of Seattle, passed away on April 18 after a lengthy illness. He was born in Philadelphia, Pa., and grew up in Dayton, Ohio. Tom graduated from Chaminade-Julienne High School in Dayton and attended Sinclair College, also in Dayton. He retired from the US Marine Corps as a Master Sergeant after 22 years of service to the military, including the Persian Gulf War. Tom will be remembered fondly by his family and friends for his kindness, generosity and sense of humor.
Survivors include his mother, Diana Kunde, and his stepfather, John T. Gordon, both of Seattle; a sister, Karen E. Kunde of Seattle; a brother and a sister-in-law, Frederick J. Kunde and Gretchen Kunde, of Wichita Falls, TX. His father, James E. Kunde, preceded Thomas in death.
A military service with burial will be at Tahoma National Cemetery, 18600 SE 240th St., Kent, WA on Monday, April 30, at 11:30 AM. Anyone attending should plan to be there no later than 11:15. A memorial service will be at 5 p.m. the same day (April 30) in the chapel at Phinney Ridge Lutheran Church, 7500 Greenwood Avenue North, Seattle, WA 98103.
