onderful and loving wife and supporting mother. The Palmer family moved every two to three years for Wayne's advancements through the ranks with Southwesten Bell. In 1968, the family permanently moved back to Fort Worth when Wayne accepted a position as CEO of Lubrications Engineers, Inc.
Bettye devoted a lifetime of service to others and volunteered and supported many non-profit organizations. She was a devout Christian and lifelong member of Westcliff United Methodist Church.
Bettye was an avid gardener and loved cultivating her flowers and plants in her greenhouse and around the house. She also had a passion for dancing and studied under dance instructor Bruce Lee for many years.
Bettye was a lifelong member of Rotary Ann's (Women of Rotary), The Fort Worth Club and Colonial Country Club (where she loved to play tennis and golf).
Bettye was preceded in death by her husband of 53 years, Wayne Palmer; and her parents, Elizabeth Grace Hitt and Jesse Jay Hitt.
Survivors: Daughter, Lynda Lee Riley and husband, Wayne Edward Riley; son, Kelly Palmer and wife, Mary Baily Palmer; grandchildren, Heather Ann McCarty, Morgan Elizabeth Naschke, Jesse Logan Palmer and Jacob Grant Palmer; and great-grandchild, David Arthur Michael Naschke, III.
