of her grandchildren's sporting events. She was always the first one to arrive even if she had to wait three hours for the event to start. Gladys looked forward to holidays and family celebrations. Each year for every holiday, she would put a one dollar bill in each grandchild's card. Gladys was the grand marshal of the parade in Allison and was the "Grandma of the town". She enjoyed her breakfast crew and spending time with "the girls". Gladys is survived by her son Lonnie (Shirley) Hinders of Elephant Butte, New Mexico, daughter Londa Wihlm of Des Moines, sister Esther Schmidt of Allison, sister Marvel Landers of Greene, nine grandchildren Chad (Monica) Hinders, Brent (Maria) Hinders, Corey (Sarah) Hoodjer, Mandy (Justin) Burns, Kelly (Jennifer) Hoodjer, Amy (Eric) Updegraff, Lindsey Hoodjer, Bethany (Dylan) Christensen, and Megan (Cory) Ginther, and sixteen great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents, husband Bennie Hinders, son Lowell Hinders, seven brothers Ernest, Lavern, Harry, Floyd, Melvin, Alfred, and Alvin Brocka and sister Susan Bruns.
