rranging, writing, painting, crafts, cooking, language and poker (to the dismay of her siblings, who still claim she cheated). She loved music, art and travel and visited the world's great museums, but found equal joy in fishing off the pier in Corpus Christi with her children. She was proud of her Blair family heritage that counted two members who were volunteer defenders memorialized at the Alamo. She weathered a hurricane, colon cancer and numerous surgeries. She made several mission trips to Mexico, taking clothes and donations to orphanages. She loved everyone in her life, but especially her kids Candy, David and Scott and mastered the skill of making them all feel like they were #1 ... until they were supplanted by her grandchildren. This was a life well-lived; Jay leaves behind a legacy of resilience, happiness, humor and love.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Mary Elizabeth Blair Wilcox and Monroe E. Wilcox; sister, Sue Klapp; and by her beloved dog, Tequila.
Survivors: Children, Candace Kroon Bracken and husband, Roy, David Kroon and wife, Vickie, Scott Kirk and wife, Karen; grandchildren, Patrick Kroon, Natalie Bracken, Henry Kirk and Elliot Kirk; great-grandson, James Kroon; sister, JoAnn Bolman and husband, Bill; brother, Monroe "Bud" Wilcox and wife, Betty; a host of nieces, nephews and extended family; and many special friends, including those she made at her last residence, the Waterview community in Granbury, Texas.
