endeavors. Having genuine and simple fun was her specialty, but her first love was the lord. As a longtime member of Southgate Church of Christ, she made use of her best talents: teaching, devotion, giving, and continuously having a positive attitude. Over the years, Joanne was an able companion to both the elderly and children. She was a "kid magnet." She taught children's classes and participated in World Bible School teaching 193 lessons. She faithfully read her bible: ten chapters per day for almost 40 years. Joanne devoted herself to praying daily for two congregations and especially students of all ages. She joyously went on several mission trips to Guatemala, Mexico, and Colorado. Later in her life, she thought it an honor to be at Christian Village where she lived for 14 years. Due to declining health, she lived her last seven years at Park Plaza where she proclaimed "it felt like home." She continued her love of games, often winning at Yahtzee, bingo, and Wheel of Fortune. She found joy in the small things and the people who surrounded her. She loved making people feel special. She believed that "it's not how old you are, but the number of years you've made the world a better place." Joanne is survived by her daughter Rosanne Scott and her husband Ron. She has two married grandchildren, Wes and Ani Scott and April and Jackson Tandy, as well as many nieces and friends. Thanks to her spiritual family for their countless good deeds. Special thanks to the dedication of her many health care professionals. Most of all thanks to the devoted staff at Park Plaza who helped her have a little fun and made her comfortable in her final days before she departed for her heavenly home. The Memorial Service will be 2:00 P.M., Saturday April 28, 2018 at Harper Funeral Home Chapel with Darryl Scott officiating. The family is requesting that everyone wear patriotic colors in honor of Joanne.
