hunting, going on many trips with his sons. In earlier years it was a Sunday tradition for the family to spend the day at the lake. Ed was known to be a story and joke teller and always having to have the last laugh. Edward A. Schiltz died Monday, April 23, 2018, at Kossuth Regional Health Center at the age of 83. He is survived by his wife of nearly 61 years, Rose of Bancroft; fourteen children, Dale (Joyce) Schiltz of Bancroft, Karla (Dick) Bartman of Toluca, IL, Patty (Alan) Dole of Pella, Mike (Brenda) Schiltz of Algona, Carol (Bill) Kockler of St. Jacob, IL, Vince (Margaret) Schiltz of Glenwood, Gordy (Kathy) Schiltz of Eagan, MN, Angie (Doug) Kasch of Algona, Mary Kay (Steve) Berte of Lakota, Glen (Susan) Schiltz of Gretna, NE, Jeanette Kadow of Hastings, NE, Rodney (Michelle) Schiltz of Fort Dodge, Jerome Schiltz of Algona, and Amy (Jesse) Zimmer of Princeton, MN; 30 grandchildren; and 15 great-grandchildren. He is also survived by a sister, Lois Ferguson of Mesa, AZ; four brothers, Fran (Darlene) Schiltz of Bancroft, Don (Mary) Schiltz of Estherville, Tony (Judy) Schiltz of Algona, and Dick (JoAnn) Schiltz of Overland Park, KS; a sister-in-law, Diane Schiltz; and many nieces, nephews, and other family members. He was preceded in death by his parents, Ella and Arnold Schiltz; a sister, Sister Eileen of the Good Shepard; a brother, David Schiltz; and a brother-in-law, Delbert Ferguson.
