John "Johnny" Patrick Minor, 52 of Cedar Rapids, died Monday, April 2, 2018, at the University of Iowa Hospital, Iowa City following complications of a hit and run accident. Services: 10 a.m., Thursday at Immaculate Conception Catholic Church by Rev. Christopher Podhajsky. Burial: Mt. Calvary Cemetery. A Vigil will be held at 4 p.m., Wednesday at Teahen Funeral Home, where friends may visit with the family from 4 to 7 p.m., and after 9 a.m. Thursday at the church.
Johnny is survived by his mother, Patricia; brother, Jeff; two sisters, Judith (James) Strotman of Shell Rock and Marilynne (Don) Downey of Eagan, MN; nephews and niece, Trace and Madison Minor, and Zach and Josh Downey.
He was preceded in death by his father, John and his maternal and paternal grandparents.
Johnny was born on May 24, 1965 in Cedar Rapids, the son of John and Patricia O'Connor Minor. In 1983 he graduated from La Salle High School. He was a baker for Donutland and the Johnson Avenue Hy-Vee for many years.
