Lucille Marie McPherson died April 30, 2018 at the age of 94. She was born August 26, 1923 in Erie, CO to Sarah and Fritz Hefftner.
She grew up in Erie, and spent her summers in Pitkin, CO. She graduated Erie High School in 1941 and married Donald McPherson August 20, 1941 in Kimball, Nebraska. They met at a Jitney dance in Longmont and were still dancing in their 80's at the Elks Club in Brighton.
Lucille and Donald began married life in Fort Lupton, CO. where they built a home and raised two daughters. They were married 69 years before Donald's death in 2010. Lucille worked summers at the Fort Lupton Canning Company in Quality Control for nearly 50 years. She loved to sew and made clothes for her daughters. She played bridge and was active in American Legion Auxiliary. She was an excellent fly fisherwoman and loved to fish Quartz Creek in the Pitkin Valley.
