William Frederick Fisher

William F. Fisher, 78, of Port Charlotte, FL passed away May 4, 2018 at the Tidewell Hospice House. He was born December 5, 1939 in Jamaica Queens, New York and he resided in Baldwin, Long Island until moving to Port Charlotte in 1996. Bill was a 1957 graduate of Baldwin High School and served in the US Marine Corp from 1957 till his honorable discharge as Air Wing in 1960. He signed on with the Nassau County Police Department in 1962 and gave 35 years as a Detective with uncommon valor. He is survived by his significant other, Barbara, son Scott and brother Cliff as well as nieces, nephews, cousins and beloved friends. He had enjoyed being adopted as a father figure and grandfather by Barbara's family. He was such a loving person, cared for all the children and people in his life and was extremely loved by all. He was preceded in death by his parents Bill and Frances Fisher, his brother Gary and sister-in-law Joanne. Arrangements have been made for inurnment at the Sarasota National Cemetery.
