Alan Z. Applebee, 63, of Maquoketa, Iowa, passed away on Monday, May 7, 2018, at his home in Maquoketa, Iowa. A celebration of his life will be held at a later date in Soldier's Grove, Wisconsin. A Natural Journey Farewell with cremation has taken place. The Carson Celebration of Life Center in Maquoketa is caring for the family. Alan Zane Applebee was born on January 3, 1955 in Richland Center, Wisconsin to Royden Morris Sr. and Edith Irene (Strahl) Applebee. He grew up in Wisconsin and was a graduate of North Crawford High School in Soldiers Grove, Wisconsin. Alan had worked for O'Reilly Auto Parts and most recently for Baron Auto Parts, both in Maquoketa. He had also been a bartender at the Maquoketa Country Club for several years and delivered pizzas for Happy Joes. Alan enjoyed being outdoors doing anything such as hunting, fishing and mushrooming. He also enjoyed his El Camino car. Through the years he had lived in Wisconsin, Florida, and for the past 20 years in Maquoketa.
