Ruth Alta Ransom, 92, of Waterloo, died Wednesday, May 16, at NorthCrest Specialty Care Center. She was born October 22, 1925, in Marathon, the daughter of Frederick and Alta Runyan Schuler. She married Duane Ransom on August 10, 1945 in Waterloo and preceded her in death on April 3, 1975. Ruth was employed as a custodian for the Waterloo Community Schools for thirteen years, retiring in 1990. She was a member of Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Waterloo. Survivors include: her daughter, Kathy (John) Schultz of Altamonte Springs, Fla; two sons, David (Lori) Ransom of Gainesville, VA., and Daniel (Lori) Ransom of Ocean Springs, Miss; five grandchildren, Angela (Will) Zeman and Karla (Chris) Kail, Katey Ransom and Nicholas Ransom, and Matthew (Crystal) Ransom; four great-grandchildren, Madison Kail and Christopher Kail III, Logan Ransom and Patience Ransom. Services: 11: 00 a.m. Tuesday, May 22, at Sacred Heart Catholic Church with burial in Mt. Olivet Cemetery.
