ways stood out to Betty was her trip to Cancun, which was a prize from a pull-tab on a Taco Bell cup. It wasn't a vivid memory simply due to winning, but because of the work it took to convince not only Darrell, but the rest of her family that her story was true and that it wasn't one of her pranks!
Betty was an active member of El Bethel Assembly of God, where she participated in women's ministry and music jamboree on Friday nights. She organized the "7 Group" which consisted of good friends gathering for cookouts, birthdays, or any chance just to get together. Betty's witty ways seemed endless and will be missed by all that knew her. Her sense of humor could often be found incorporated into words of caring and encouragement in the countless cards she mailed. She loved music and attended the Gospel Music Festival in Pella for several years. In 1994, Betty attended her first Covered Bridge Festival in Winterset and enjoyed it so much that she made it a point to attend almost every year since. She hadn't seen the movie of Bridges of Madison County until shortly after her first visit but proceeded to watch it at least 50 times!
Betty is survived by her son, Steve Purscell of Papillion, NE; grandchildren, Allysen and Alexis Purscell of Papillion, NE; sister, Katie (Roland) Kuster of Council Bluffs; nieces and nephew, Susan Snell, Julie Kuster, Amy (Roy) Brown, Terry (Pam) Weldon and Virginia (Jack) Weldon; great-nieces and nephews, Alyssa, Logan and Nathan Snell and Kaylee Brown; her church family; and several friends.
She is preceded in death by her parents, Henry and Mabel Franklin; husbands, Larry Purscell and Darrell D. Moore; sisters and brothers-in-law, Irene (Harold) Weldin and Marlene (Bob) Cummins; and several aunts, uncles and cousins.
