Claude Watson Abrams, the son of Ralph and Mildred (Huewitt) Abrams, was born March 27, 1927 at Fort Dodge. He attended Border Plains elementary and Lehigh High School. He entered into the United States Navy in Farragut, Idaho and traveled to Mobile, Alabama before spending time in the Panama Canal. Claude was united in marriage to Donna Jean Jordanger. They were married for 41 years and she preceded him in death in 1991. Claude was united in marriage to Evelene Hirschberg in 1994. They were married for 23 years and she preceded him in death in 2017. Claude was employed with Tobin Meat Packing Company, where he later became a meat inspector. He also worked for Gus Glaser Meats for many years, Iowa Kernel Popcorn, Hardy Salt Company and Consumer Supply Corporation of Storm Lake where he worked as a salesman until his retirement.
Claude enjoyed music and loved playing his guitar, especially when he played with his small band. He enjoyed horses and horse related activities. He was a former member of the Fort Dodge Dragoons Calvary Division. Claude also enjoyed traveling after his retirement.
