estaurant for 15 years, catering weddings and other festivities. Music was a big part of Marlene's life. She sang in choirs and small groups. She served as church organist for Winnebago Lutheran Church, the Christian Reformed Church in Mason City and the First Reformed Church in Buffalo Center for a total of 66 years. She taught 40+ piano students annually for many years. Marlene's faith was very important to her. She was a member of First Reformed Church, where she sang in the choir, served on consistory, was a member of Esther Circle, and was an organist for nearly 50 years at First Reformed Church. Marlene's life was about spending time with her family, attending events for her grandchildren and hosting many family gatherings. She loved to cook and bake and won all their hearts with her special Christmas goodies. Marlene also lived for playing cards and even when life got tough, she wouldn't miss a night of cards with her many special friends. Marlene died on May 18, 2018 at Timely Mission Nursing Home. She is survived by her four children and their spouses: Sher and John Blomster of Buffalo Center, Patricia Lauritsen of Mason City, Mark and Shelda Krull of Buffalo Center and Jamie Krull and Teresa Gray of Maple Grove, MN. She is also survived by 13 grandchildren and 18 great-grandchildren: Brett and Rachel Venteicher, Lainey, Gabby, Caleb and Jenna of Algona; Scott and Gina Venteicher, Gwendalyn, Simon and Roscoe of Urbandale; Mara and Michael Walsted and Jessa of Swea City; Autumn Lauritsen of Mason City; Katy Lauritsen, Dakota and Jude of Mason City, Wendy Krull, Alyssa and Aiden of JBSA Fort Sam Houston, TX; Dan and Julie Krull, Quinten and Kaden of Indianola; Eric Krull of Woden; Savannah, Sierra and Scarlett Krull of Maple Grove, MN; Chris and Tara Blomster, Sean and Holly of Oronoco,MN; Jenny and Pete Burns, Weston and Everett of LeSueur, MN. Also surviving are her sisters-in-law and brother-in-law: Joyce and Loren Shiers, Betty Baker, Ardella Krull, LeEtta Krull, Eleanor Lovik and Beverly Lovik. She is also survived by nieces, nephews and many friends. She was preceded in death by her husband, Alroy; her parents, Thomas and Hazel Lovik; Alroy's parents, Fred and Adeline Krull; her brothers, Verne Lovik, Eldon Lovik and Harlan Lovik; brother-in-law, Alan Baker; and grandson, Spencer Lauritsen.
