Jim "Crazy" Ricke, age 63, of Manning and formerly of Arcadia, died Monday, May 7, 2018 at his home in Manning.

Visitation will be held beginning at 4 p.m. on Monday, May 14, 2018 at the Sharp Funeral Home in Carroll. A prayer service will be held at 5:30 p.m. at the Sharp Funeral Home in Carroll with Fr. Richard Remmes officiating. Honorary Casket Bearers will be Jim's nieces and nephews: Jay Ricke, Matt Ricke, Steven Ricke, Kristine Iverson, Chad Kohorst, Jason Kohorst, Brian Ricke, Kyle Ricke, Joe Vetter, Valerie Vetter, and Adam Vetter. Burial will be in St. John's Cemetery in Arcadia following the prayer service.

ke. At a young age his family moved to the Carroll Community for a brief time before settling in the Arcadia Community. Jim attended St. John's School in Arcadia and later attended Kuemper Catholic Schools. Following his schooling he held several jobs in Carroll including Napa Auto Parts, Quandt's Auto Salvage and Carroll Coolers. Jim later worked for his father at Ricke's Repair in Arcadia, assisted Dave Staiert with his farm operation and most recently was employed with Arcadia Limestone. Jim enjoyed fishing, building model cars, refinishing furniture and was a gifted hobby painter.

Jim is survived by his parents, Archie and Lillian (Miller) Ricke of Arcadia; his sisters: Cindy (Joe) Fleskes of Davis, California, and Jane (Gary) Vetter of Westside; his sisters-in-law: Deanna (Connie) Schoessler of Westside and Jaynee Ricke of Arcadia; as well as many nieces, nephews, great nieces and nephews and other extended relatives.

Jim was preceded in death by his brothers: John Ricke and Ken "Beanie" Ricke; and his grandparents: Ed and Hilda Miller and Vincent and Julia Ricke.
