Katharine M. Ridenour

Katharine M. Ridenour, 97, of Papillion, Nebraska and formerly Waterloo, died at the Cottages at Hillcrest Country Estates in Papillion, on Wednesday, May 9, 2018. Katharine was born on September 7, 1920 in Arlington, IA, daughter of Herman & Johanna (Meisgeier) Kruempel. She graduated from Arlington High School in 1938. Katharine married Mark William Ridenour on August 25, 1946, in Arlington. He died March 25, 2006. She worked at a grocery store in Manchester until moving to Waterloo. There, she tended the soda fountains and lunch counter at the SunMart. When it became Adam's Grocery she worked in the meat and bakery departments into her 70's. Katharine was a longtime member of Zion Evangelical Lutheran Church, where she enjoyed baking cookies for the Community Meals Program. Survived by her daughter, Vivian (Robert) Keckler, of Omaha; two grandchildren, Kimberly (Thomas) Nelson of Roy, WA and Chad (Cindy) Keckler of Lincoln, NE; four great-grandchildren, Collin (Kelsey) Nelson, Kodi (Sawyer Lobdell) Nelson, Lauren Keckler and Alexis Keckler; and one great-great-grandchild, Kasen Lobdell.
