ked as a Stanley demonstrator and unit supervisor and then worked several years at the north end Guthart Grocery Store.
Alice was a member of St. John Evangelical Lutheran Church. She was also a member of the Women of the Moose. She loved to dance, go fishing, playing cards, bowling and learned to golf in her later years. As a teenager she enjoyed roller skating. Alice was a very loving and caring wife, mother and grandmother who loved spending time with her family.
She is survived by her daughter, Sharon (Shari) Schmitt of Charles City and son, LeRoy (Gloria) DeBower of Marshalltown, IA; five grandchildren: Karla Goddard of Charles City, Sondra Schmitt of Waterloo, Paula (Shawn) Vroman of Waterloo, Tom (Jennifer) DeBower of Chicago, IL and John (Becky) DeBower of Norwalk, IA and six great-grandsons: Carl and Brian Goddard, Lucas and Jacob DeBower and Andrew and Samuel DeBower; sister, Evelyn Noble of Mason City and sister-in-law, Charlene Marson of Waterloo.
She was preceded in death by her first husband, Carl DeBower and second husband, Elmer Funte; parents, Roy and Helen Marson; son-in-law, Jerome Schmitt; brothers, Lyle Marson and Don Marson; sisters-in-law, Betty Marson, Annie Frericks and Helen Cmelik and brothers-in-law, Hank Frericks and Bob Cmelik.
