His proudest accomplishment was that fact that he was a decorated Captain in the United States Marine Corp, serving his country in Viet Nam. It was quite fitting that as an American hero, he passed away on Memorial Day. Warren was predeceased by his parents, Dr. Frank and Edith Mainella, and his older brother, Joseph A. Mainella and a nephew Michael Mainella. He is survived by his brother and best friend, Frank S. Mainella, Jr., his niece and nephew, Joseph A. Mainella, Jr., and TeriAnn (Mainella) and Scott Hargraves, and several great-nieces and nephews, Michael and Angela Mainella, Brittany (Abel) and Ryan Corey, Jennifer Abbott, and Jacob Hargraves, close cousins who were like another brother and sister, Joseph Avella, Elise (Avella) and Marc Feiner, a godson, Steven Feiner, and many loving cousins and close friends.
