His single raised eyebrow was a signature conveyer of gentle skepticism and his wry humor. Doug was a member of Christ Presbyterian Church since 1991 and a member of several bicycle and professional medical organizations. Survivors include his wife D. Eugenia "Genie" Sherman; son W. Nathaniel Brown and wife Silvia Espinosa Gutiez; sisters Debby Brown Skinner (Brad) and Linda Brown Cullum (Bob); three nieces and one nephew. Doug was preceded in death by his parents and grandparents. A memorial service will be held Saturday, June 9, 2018, at 11:00 a.m. at Christ Presbyterian Church, 944 E. Gorham Street, Madison, WI 53703, followed by a time of fellowship and refreshments.
