ing a wedding date for September 11, 1954 in Noank, Connecticut. This seemed like the perfect date for the two to marry, however, Hurricane Carol "The Monster of 1954" hit the evening before. Despite mother nature, Marie and Donnie still managed to tie the knot postponing the wedding only by a couple of hours. To support his bride, Donnie found employment as a Government Communication Specialist. New London was home for the couple for a few years before Donnie's career required them to move. Marie was always quite the adventurer packing up the family and establishing a new home with the different assignments, including many overseas. It was very important to Marie for her children to have special birthdays and holidays no matter where they lived. Therefore, she really outdid herself on these occasions- especially at birthdays and Christmas. Upon Donnie's retirement, he and Marie moved to Bixby where they made their home for 32 years. Members of the Downtown Bixby Church of Christ, Marie led Bible studies and blessed others by delivering meals. She also enjoyed sharing her gift of singing at the church. Donnie served as an elder of the church and Marie supported him in this role for 18 years. Marie had a knack for writing. She loved writing letters and others looked forward to receiving them. Her annual Christmas letter was always a hit. Marked by beautiful penmanship, her letters and cards are now a cherished keepsake. Marie passed away June 5, 2018. She was 87. Those she leaves behind are: her husband of 63 years, Donnie Morgan; children: Donna Holloway, Tom Morgan, Suzie Billingsley and Nancy Schweikhard; grandchildren: Jodi Hodges, Tim and Ryan Morgan, Megan Walvoord, Brenda Deal, Wendy Billingsley, and Dan and Kayla Schweikhard; great grandchildren, Dameon Hodges, Lilia, Elise and Parker Morgan, and William and Emma Walvoord.
