bbies with his daughters. He fished with them-even after one threw in a good rod and reel because she caught an eel. He took them hunting, built whatever cabinet, hope chest, or craft table they "designed," and made impromptu road trips when necessary to help out. He shared his love and humor with his grandchildren leading them on adventures and teaching them some of his favorite songs.
Ron's tender heart had a great impact on everyone he met. From the people he managed, boards on which he served, activities to which he donated, to the nurses and aides who cared for him in Salem Lutheran Home, he was always generous, showed loving hospitality, and was ready to fight for their best interest.
Ron died June 9, 2018. He was preceded in death by his wife Sandy, his parents, three brothers, Donnie, Lyle, and Jim and two sisters, Audrey and Doris. He is survived by one sister, Lois, and one sister-in-law, Linda. He is also survived by his daughters and their husbands, Mike and Julie Horton of Maryville, TN, and Clark and Susan Ahrenholtz of Elk Horn. Ron and Sandy had four grandchildren Emily Petty and husband Daniel, Riley Horton, Connor Horton, and Aaron Allen.
The family will have a private burial service at a date to be determined.
