Joseph M. Johnson, 22, of Rushford, MN died on Sunday, December 7, 1941, on the U.S. Oklahoma Navy Ship at Pearl Harbor in Hawaii. Joseph was born on February 4, 1919, in Columbus, North Dakota to Helmer and Marie (Sande) Johnson. He moved with his family from North Dakota to Rushford, MN in the early 1930s. He was a graduate of Rushford High School where he played football, baseball and was in the band. Joseph had three siblings: Marilyn Rislove, Lu Ebner and Glenn Johnson. Due to current DNA technology, Joseph's body was identified and will be brought home to be laid to rest. There will be a tribute to Joseph at 1:00 p.m. on Saturday, July 7, 2018, at Rushford Lutheran Church with full Military Honors following at Rushford Lutheran Cemetery. Hoff Funeral Service in Rushford is assisting the family with arrangements.
