rn and soybean yield contests in Henry County and was the tri-state top seed producer for Garst Seed Company in 1989. His father sold McAllister Seed Company and retired in 1988. Scott started his own seed company in 1991, dedicating the majority of his time to building that company. He loved tractor pulling and successfully campaigned modified tractors in the 70's and 80's; pulling three times in the "Big One" in Louisville, Kentucky. He was a director on the board of the Iowa Tractor Puller's Association; eventually becoming President. He was a delegate to the board of the National Tractor Pulling Association and was instrumental in organizing the Skunk River Valley Chapter of Ducks Unlimited. McAllister started late model dirt track racing and put together his own team in 2000. That team went on to win two Track Championships and the Deery Brothers Summer Series. He enjoyed attending shows and sales with Bob Gabeline and Dennis Polk. Due to increasing health problems, Mr. McAllister retired in 2012. He was preceded in death by his beloved parents and grandparents. Survivors include his brother, Rande (Dixie) of Mt. Pleasant, sister Teresa of Naples, Florida and a multitude of friends all over the United States. The funeral service for Scott McAllister will be held Friday at 11:00 AM at Elliott Chapel, New London with Mr. Dick Swartzendruber officiating. Burial will be at Forest Home Cemetery, Mt. Pleasant. Visitation will begin at noon Thursday at the chapel with the family present to receive friends from 5 - 7 PM. Memorials have been established for 4-H Clubs of Henry County and Great River Tractor Pulling Association.
