and helping others. After taking care of God's work for the time, Daniel went to college, earning his Bachelor's Degree from Angelo State University and a Master's of Fine Arts Degree from Brigham Young University. Daniel moved to Texas and created and ran the ceramics department at Camp Stewart and taught art at Grafford ISD. He was then offered an art position at Laredo Community College where he spent the next twelve years. While Daniel was in Laredo, he finally met his true love, Karen, in 2006 thru the popular Christian dating site (EHarmony) and just like the commercials, it worked like magic. Daniel and Karen were married on May 24th, 2008 at South Padre Island by the LDS Bishop. They were able to enjoy a beautiful honeymoon traveling to Rome and taking a Mediterranean cruise visiting Turkey, Greece, and Italy. Soon after they were married, after thoughtful prayer and consideration, Daniel and Karen decided to raise their family in the Catholic faith and they became faithful members of St. Joan of Arc in Weslaco. God blessed the McInnis family with their firstborn daughter, Sydney in 2009, then Delaney and Preston and Daniel was the model husband and father. He always put God first, but Karen and the kids were the next focus of his life. He taught the kids to put God first too. Daniel went to work as a professor at South Texas College in the art department. When he was not working he was teaching his own children and taking care of his bride. He was the chef at the house. He loved to bake and would make homemade crepes and his own homemade syrup to go with them. Daniel planted a garden every fall and spring and canned his own tomatoes and made homemade relish. Most of the ingredients he cooked with came right from his garden. He loved to make homemade bread and he also loved having the kids right there by his side, teaching them every step. Daniel loved the outdoors, working in the yard, repairing the sprinklers, swimming, camping and going to the beach. He was extremely intelligent and had a gift in the arts. He enjoyed sculpting, ceramics, and designing anything that had to do with art. He loved to read and learn. By far, his favorite book was the Bible. Daniel's greatest love in this life was his heavenly Father and he set the best example possible as a husband and father. They were able to enjoy Disney World together and lots of trips to the beach making unforgettable memories. Daniel and Karen had a unique marriage, never having a fight. Daniel will always be remembered as a caring, compassionate, kind, and loving husband, father, son, brother, uncle, teacher, and friend. Daniel is survived by his loving wife Karen (Kidd) McInnis, three children, Sydney Corrinne, Delaney Jaleh, and Preston Liam Parker, his parents James and Corrine McInnis, four brothers, Tim McInnis (Carolyn) of Australia, David McInnis (Rebecca) of New Braunfels, Thom McInnis (Anne Marie) of Austin, Michael McInnis of Hawaii, three sisters Cimbria Peterson (Keith) of Virginia, Elham Williams (Jess) of Germany, Poem Pitzer (James) of Washington, and numerous nephews and nieces, family and friends. Mass will be celebrated on Thursday, June 28, 2018, 10:30 am at St. Joan of Arc in Weslaco.
