c route." The couple enjoyed camping. They camped all over the state of Iowa; especially Okoboji, Decorah and Saylorville. Roger was an avid fisherman and enjoyed trout fishing. He was adventurous, spontaneous and loved the outdoors. Roger took a trip to Arizona with his good friend Dean and they zip-lined and went on a hot air balloon ride. Every year he tended to his yard with gardening, lots of flowers and bird feeders. Roger also liked playing cribbage.
Those left to cherish his memory include children, Jodie (Larry) Nauman of Mason City and Jim (Deb) Powell of Mason City; step-children, Julie Perrott of Mason City and Ramon (Terri) Chisholm of Las Vegas, NV; sisters, Sharon (Fred) King of Charles City, Pat Powell of Mason City, Sandy Spencer of Nora Springs and Mary (Dan) Blair of Nora Springs; Sisters-in-law, Betty Pierson of Mason City and Darlene Ballard of Ankeny; Brother-in-law, Larry (Barb) Pierson of Mason City; grandchildren: Melissa (Jason) Farrell, Clayton Powell, Brandon (Sarah) Powell, Jason Nauman, Michael Perrott and Cody (Vanessa) Perrott; great-grandchildren: Jason Jr., Brooke, Summer, Alexis, Austin, Colton, Olivia, Madilyn, Dylan and Brynnlee; expecting great-great-granddaughter, Charlotte; good friend, Dean Haberkorn and many other nieces, nephews, cousins, family and friends.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Sandy Powell in 2016; parents, Ernest and Loretta Powell; brother-in-law, Kurt Spencer; granddaughter-in-law, Sara Powell and mother-in-law, Irene Pierson.
