Leon "Lee" Dale Kuhr, 89, of Lakewood, Colorado, passed away Friday, June 1, 2018. A celebration of life service will be held at 1:00 pm, Monday, June 25 at Rockland Community Church, 17 S. Mount Vernon Country Club Road, Golden, Colorado. Burial was on June 6th at Ft. Logan National Cemetery in Denver, Colorado. Leon was born June 18, 1928 in Blair, Nebraska to Martin O. Kuhr and Esther (Sorensen) Kuhr. He graduated from Blair High School and attended Iowa State University and served in the United States Coast Guard. Lee married Gloria Jessen of Blair in 1948. Lee was a dedicated employee of MIC/GM until his retirement. He also enjoyed volunteering as a Ski Patrolman at Winter Park, Colorado for many years. Lee is survived by his loving wife, Gloria, as well as his children, Becky Lovelett of Cheyenne, Wyoming, Sandy Walton of Eaton, Colorado, Jim Kuhr of Littleton, Colorado, five adoring grandchildren, and two great grandchildren, with another on the way. f Blair, Nebraska. Leon was preceded in death by his parents, brothers Kenneth and Donald and his sister Eunice Linnenkohl. Lee was a loving husband, father and grandfather. He will be greatly missed by friends and family alike.
