How Did We Do?

David Laurence Moore
June 25, 1950 - July 8, 2018

Dave was born in Seattle, WA on June 25, 1950, to Alice & Terry Moore. He grew up in both Norman, Oklahoma (grade school) and Ballard, WA schools. In 1970-71 Dave served in the Army and went to Viet Nam, Artillery division. Coming home to Seattle, Washington was one of his happiest days.

Dave loved all sports, especially Seattle Seahawks, Mariners, and the old Seattle Sonics. He loved Dick's cheeseburgers, Taco Time, hot sauces and lots of Pepper! He loved his hotrods & Harley Panhead & boats & airplanes & hydroplanes & Rainier beers and being with his many friends. As a young man he spent time working in Alaska on and off doing commercial crabbing & fishing. Later as a welder he worked at different locations building seafood processing plants. He lived in Sitka, Alaska for 12 years and then moved to Noble, Oklahoma to retire and be closer to his Mom (in her 90's). When they called him to come back for short term welding projects he went back to Seattle & Sitka, Alaska where he enjoyed seeing all his many old friends.

Dave had lots of girlfriends over the years but he never married until our wedding day on Leap Day 2/29/16, he was 65. We were married in Las Vegas by Elvis with 9 of our friends and family watching. He was at my first wedding in 1976 and liked to joke that "I go to all her weddings!" (all 2). We moved his things from Oklahoma to Fall City, WA and we acted like teenagers, so in-love, having fun. We had been friends for over 44 years. I am heart-broken that we could not grow old together, but this year his health deteriorated fast, and he had 2 trips to the E.R., losing the battle.

He leaves behind his loving wife Joanne (me) and his brother Mike Moore (Wenatchee) and his sweet baby boy Chopper, 8 months old and Missy, our doggies. He had hundreds of amazing friends all over Washington, Alaska and Oklahoma. We will all miss him so very much, he made us smile, laugh and joke with him. Love you forever my Honey-Bunch. Until we meet again...

We are planning a Celebration of Life on Saturday, August 18, 2018, in Fall City.
More details to follow later.

Instead of flowers, donations may be made to "Left Behind K-9 Rescue" in Covington, WA or your favorite animal rescue/shelter.
