Jack D. Bloom, 81, passed away July 10, 2018. Jack was born in San Francisco, California, April 10, 1937 to Mable Hartley Moore and Theodore Bloom.
Jack grew up in the Denver area. He attended West High School and joined the Marines in 1955. He served the Marines for eight years, four years active duty and four years reserves. He was an IBEW Local 68 electrician for nearly 50 years. Jack married Kathy Arnold on November 15, 1963. To the marriage were born three children; Jane, Greg, and David.
In 1974, the family moved to a 35-acre farm in Brighton, Colorado from Northglenn. Jack and his family started River's Bend Farm where they hosted corporate company picnics on their property. Jack loved fishing, backpacking, and exploring the national parks and Colorado mountains. He found peace in the stillness of the backcountry. He was known for his work ethic, independence, and willingness to finish every task at hand without compliant. d cooking green chili were among Jack's hidden talents. They reached their goal for Jack to finish his life at home on the farm.
Jack is survived by his wife, Kathy Bloom of Brighton; daughter, Jane (Ed) Fuller of Erie; son, Greg (Christy) Bloom of Lone Tree; son, David Bloom of Castle Rock, twin brother, Jerry (Sharon) Bloom of Northglenn; sister, Joyce Clark of Montrose; and sister, Colleen (John) Trotter of Casper, Wyoming. Jack and Kathy's eleven grandchildren and four great-grandchildren were the special focus of their life.
Celebration of Life will be held at 11:00 a.m., Friday July 20, 2018 at Harvest Fellowship Church, Brighton, Colorado.
