job of all was being the mother of her girls. It was a role in which she excelled, not only for her own daughters but also for her "bonus" daughters, niece, Morgan Ramaker and special friend, Lindsay Kindschy (Adam and son, Sam), and her daughters' friends, who were known to ask in difficult situations, "What Would Gail Do?" At the same time that Gail embraced her role as a mother and wonderful wife, she made time to give back to the community, volunteering at the Agrace HospiceCare library, Susan G. Komen, and Edgewood Campus and High School. In her work at The Knitting Tree, Gail dispensed sound advice about life and knitting, fostering a sense of community at "The Tree" as she did everywhere she went. Gail's happiest memories included her 27 annual trips to St. Maarten where she spent over a year of her life in total with her family and dear friends, Tom and Margaret Diehl; 25 years of monthly book club meetings with many pages turned, wine glasses emptied, and laughter shared with beloved friends; her days traveling to knitting shows/shops around the country with her best knitting friends; her annual "Sister Trips" to celebrate the birthdays of her close-knit sisters; and watching her daughters blossom from precocious children to compassionate young women who have dedicated their careers to caring for others as nurses. Gail loved gardening, birds, puzzles, beautiful days and nights on her porch, and walking through the neighborhood with friends. She was an avid reader with a knack for recommending just the right book, and she was never without her knitting projects. Beautiful Gail embodied grace and generosity. Her unmatched calming charisma, paired with unfailing words of wisdom, an infectious smile, and endless kindness deeply impacted everyone with whom she crossed paths. During her 3½ year battle with breast cancer, Gail's positive attitude and determination never wavered through her struggle, she continued to be the source of strength and inspiration to family and friends.
