r year in high school but did not graduate, as married girls were not allowed to graduate in those days. She was the first graduate of the Adult GED program of Arlington Independent Schools in May 1966. Along with husband Walter, she was active in Spanish missions, both traveling to Spanish-speaking countries and conducting home Bible studies. She learned Spanish so as to be a more effective Bible teacher.
She is preceded in death by her parents, her husband of 69 years, and sons John William 'Johnny' Head in 1946 and Walter Young 'Wally' Head Jr. in 2003. Also preceding her are siblings William Archie, Holland Dale 'Bud' and Shirley Ann Curtis, Mildred Eugenia Ward, and Rosemarie McFall.
She is survived by daughter Sharon Elaine Head Gammon and husband James of New Mexico, and son Timothy Lawrence Head and wife Bobbe of Van Horn, Texas; daughters-in-law Grace Snowden Head of Arlington, Doris Matetzschk Head of Tyler and Trudie Smith Head of Cleburne; nine grandchildren, fourteen great-grandchildren, and numerous extended family members and friends.
