Bruce Heacock, 86, of Port Charlotte, Florida, went home to his Lord on Saturday, June 30th at Englewood Hospice House. The son of Frasier and Vivian Heacock, Bruce was born on May 16th, 1932, in Kenmore, New York.
Bruce served four years in the U.S. Air Force before he graduated from SUNY -Fredonia with a degree in music, later attending Colorado University to complete graduate studies in composition. Bruce taught band for 27 years. His last years of teaching were spent in Medina, New York where he was active in the local theatre.
Bruce and his wife, Joyce, were gospel singers often performing Bruce's original music. Upon retirement and relocation to Florida, Bruce entertained in clubs, parties, and retirement facilities. Bruce loved his family time and playing golf and tennis. He won many tennis titles.
Bruce is survived by Joyce, his wife of 60 years; his daughter, Jennifer (Bill) Bieliski, and grandson, Benjamin; his daughter Laura (Brian) Crum, and grandchildren Olivia and Nathaniel. He is also survived by his brother Noel (Linda) Heacock and niece & nephew, Kimberly and Todd.
