Bobby Dale Long, age 86, of Council Bluffs, passed away at his residence on July 12, 2018. Bobby was born February 22, 1932 in Stella, Missouri to the late Lewis and Ola Mae (Patton) Long and graduated from Franklin, Nebraska High School with the class of 1949. Bobby proudly served his country in the US Army during the Korean Conflict and was united in marriage to Karen Nolan on July 20, 1974 in Omaha, Nebraska. Bobby and Karen owned and operated Associated Tax in Columbus, Nebraska for 30 years, retiring in 1998. He previously managed Household Finance Company here in Council Bluffs. His hobbies include fishing, hunting, camping, traveling and spending time with family, especially his grandchildren. Bobby is preceded in death by his parents, son, Russell Long; three brothers and one sister. Survivors include his wife of 44 years, Karen Long; sons, Steven (Cheryl) Long, Michael (Courtney) Long and Robert Long; step daughters, Cindi Greenlee, Joni (Tim) Struck and Wendi Messersmith; 17 grandchildren, 13 great-grandchildren; brother, William (Jean) Long, many nieces and nephews.
