ries in Mason City. Her career peaked when she was awarded the promotion and title of lead drill operator of the CNC department. Doreen was devastated when the company closed it's doors. Instead of returning to work she decided to take a step back allowing her to spend more time with her family & friends.
She enjoyed road trips spent hunting for big rocks for her rock garden, attending football games, fishing the Mississippi, casino trips, tending to both her flower & rock gardens.
Doreen kept her word to all, never divulging the secrets that were revealed during the countless stories told at the round table. Rest assured she took them to the grave where they will be locked away with her for eternity.
She had a truly special relationship with animals. Dogs topped the list of favorites but over the years she raised a wide varity of animals on her farm in Burchinal.
One thing that often attracted peoole was her unique ability to get the best out of each day, no matter what the conditions.
Following two strokes, Doreen spent the last few years being looked after and tended to by her loving husband Mitch. Between their two imaginations, they went on many great adventures. Never needing much more than a thought to get them there. It's safe to say her bucket list didn't have a whole lot left on it.
She will always be remembered by all who knew her as the caring, loving, forgiving, inspirational, loyal person she was born to be.
She was preceded in death by her husband John C. McLaughlin Sr., mother, Sharon Rittenhouse; and mother-in-law, Betty Schumacher.
