Betty Elaine Patrum, 84, of Dubuque, passed away Sunday, July 15, 2018 at Luther Manor.
Memorial services will be at 11 a.m. Thursday, July 19 at Hoffmann Schneider & Kitchen Funeral Home and Cremation Service, 3860 Asbury Rd., Dubuque, where friends may greet the family from 9 a.m. until the time of service. Rev. Josh Martyn will preside. Cremation rites have been accorded. Burial will be in Linwood Cemetery.
Betty was born December 13, 1933 in Randolph, NE, the daughter of William Edward and Martha Jane (Pickering) Niday. She married James Patrum on June 12, 1953 in San Diego, CA. He preceded her in death in 1993.
Betty managed the Carousel Snack Bar at the mall in Dubuque. After Jim retired, he and Betty retired to Plant City, FL. Betty made many friends in Florida, where she also enjoyed working at Beef O'Brady's. Her children and grandchildren loved going to visit Jim and Betty in Florida.
Betty was a 50 year member of the Fraternal Order of the Eagles Auxiliary, of which she was Past President. She enjoyed watching NASCAR and was an avid Jeff Gordon fan.

of Dubuque, and William "Will" Patrum of Monticello, IA; six grandchildren, seven great grandchildren, and three on the way; her sister, Twila Horn of Indianapolis, IN, and many nieces and nephews.
In addition to her husband, she was preceded in death by her parents; three brothers, Harold, Frank, and Gene; and three sisters, Marjorie, Eunice, and Wilma.
