Daniel Kozma Balkunow, 78, of Punta Gorda, Florida passed away July 17, 2018.
He was born August 4, 1939 in Glen Rock, Pennsylvania to the late Kozma and Florence Balkunow. He spent the majority of his life in New Jersey retiring to Punta Gorda in 2002.
He was employed for 34 years by Bristol-Myers Squibb, New Brunswick, New Jersey as Department Head/Radiation Safety Officer involved in the manufacture of radiopharmaceuticals.
Daniel is survived by his wife of 40 years, Catherine. His sister and brother-in-law, Judy and John Majewski of North Brunswick, New Jersey, and two nieces, Deborah Bussey of Hamilton Square, New Jersey and Judy Davidson of Edison, New Jersey.
He was a member of various antique automobile clubs, including Sports Car Club of America, Tampa Bay Austin Healey Club of America, Austin Healey Sports and Touring Club, and British Car Club of Southwest Florida.
A "Celebration of Life" will be held Wednesday, July 25, 2018 at 11am at the Kays Ponger & Uselton Funeral Home, 635 E. Marion Avenue, Punta Gorda, FL. With a Memorial Service to follow at 12:30pm.
