2 and honorably discharged January 13, 1953. Richard returned to the family farm that he loved and continued his life as a farmer. On March 18, 1967 he married the love of his life, Wilma Henson. They farmed together many years. Richard was a member of the Baxter Evangelical Free Church, where he served in various ministries and was the church janitor for a number of years. He also belonged to the Iowa Antique Power, the Massey Collectors, and Jasper Co Sheep Producers Associations. He recently was inducted into the Massey Harris Hall of Fame. Richard enjoyed his family--especially his grandsons, camping, attending all old tractor events, restoring old tractors, and visiting with anyone. He was a great person for history. Through his amazing memory, he could remember so many different events of the last 89 years and even what the weather was like on that day. Those left to cherish his loving memory are his daughter Lynette (Ruston) Sullivan of Carlisle, grandsons Lincoln and Morgan Sullivan of Carlisle and many friends and relatives. He was preceded in death by his parents and wife. Memorial contributions may be directed to the family, which will be further designated at a later date. Fredregill Funeral & Cremation Care in Baxter has been entrusted with the care of Richard and his family.
