Michael A. Brightly, 53, a longtime resident of Elizaville, NY, passed away unexpectedly on Monday, July 23, 2018 at the Albany Medical Center in Albany, NY.
Born on September 6th, 1964, in Rhinebeck, NY, he was the son of the late Stephen J. and Carol (Lydon) Brightly.
An avid hunter, Mike was a longtime gentleman farmer at his home in Elizaville. He also worked for over 20 years at Red Hook Central School in Red Hook, NY.
Survived by his loving fiancé, Ashleigh Hogan and her daughter Amy Riedel of Elizaville, NY; his aunts and uncles, Charlene Goodrich of Germantown, NY, Edward Lydon of Elizaville, NY, Randy Lydon of Barrytown, NY, David Lydon of Crescent City, Florida, Susan Moul of Red Hook, NY, and Barbara Worth of Gainesville, FL; lifelong friend, John Shea; along with numerous cousins, extended family and friends.
In addition to his parents and extended family, his brother, Stephen Brightly IV, predeceased him.

Friends may call at the Burnett & White Funeral Homes on Tuesday, July 31, 2018 from 12 - 2 PM. Funeral services will be held at 2:00 PM. Interment will follow at Elizaville Methodist Cemetery, Elizaville, NY.
Memorial donations may be made in Michael's memory to the Columbia-Greene Humane Society, 125 Humane Society Road, Hudson, NY 12534.
