Fred "Rope" Henry Tibbits, 62, of Keokuk, passed away Sunday morning, August 12, 2018, in Quincy, Illinois.
He was born November 3, 1955, in Quincy, Illinois, the son of Fred and Helen Lohmeyer Tibbits. He was united in marriage to Pamela Duncan on July, 9, 2004, in Keokuk. He was a graduate of Quincy High School and lived in Keokuk for the last 20 years. He was employed by Keokuk Contractors for over 20 years.
He loved to tinker and work with wood; and made many household items. He enjoyed fishing and traveling and was especially liked trains and railroads.
Rope is survived by his wife Pamela; eight children, Shane (Sara) Stone of Teutopolis, IL, Amanda Patch of Bois Darc, MO, Fred (Jessica Davis) Tibbits III of Keokuk, Michael Tibbits of Warsaw, IL, Nikki (Shawn) Stark of Keokuk, Kym Sturm of Alexandria, MO, Rich (Ang) Nelson of West Point, IA, and Angela Nelson of Keokuk, and twenty grandchildren. Also surviving is a sister Pat Brinkopf of Littleton, CO and a brother Sonny Tibbets of Atoka, TN.
He was preceded in death by his parents and three sisters.
