Mary Jane "Jerry" Axline, 100 of Cedar Rapids, died Wednesday, August 15, 2018 at Meth-Wick Community. Services: 10:30 a.m., Monday at Teahen Funeral Home by Pastor Scott Milsom. Burial: Cedar Memorial Cemetery. Friends may visit with the family on Sunday from 4 to 6 p.m., and Monday after 9:30 a.m., at the funeral home.
Mary Jane is survived by her children James (Barbara) Axline of Nevada, Linda (Ken) McGoldrick of Alton, MO, and daughter-in-law Joan Axline of Paris, MO; seven grandsons Mike (Lisa) McElmurray, Rob (Emily) McElmurray, Mark ( Tracey) McElmurray, Alex (Deb) Axline, Bert (Rachel) Axline, Dan Axline, and Patrick (Courtney) Axline; 10 great-grandchildren Ryan, Jessie, Abigail, Josiah, Bridges, Hunter, Logan, Wyatt, Cooper and Tegan; three great-great-grandchildren Emma, Mason, and Abigail; honorary granddaughter, Jordan Carman; and many nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her husband Raymond and son Gary L. Axline in 2016.

4, 1918 daughter of James and Iva Webb Flaherty in Cedar Rapids. She graduated from Roosevelt High School in 1936 and Coe College in 1940. Following college she worked at the Cedar Rapids Public Library, then as an airline stewardess from 1942 to 1951. Mary Jane was the first stewardess that did not have to be a nurse due to the war. On September 12, 1954, Mary Jane married the love of her life Raymond Axline in Cedar Rapids. He died on January 28, 1993. Mary Jane was first and foremost a loving and devoted wife, mother, grandmother and friend. She was a great cook, seamstress and nature lover. Mary Jane always enjoyed a great game of cards, and nothing brought her more joy than traveling with family or friends. She visited every state except New Hampshire and many countries with Ireland being her favorite.
