Catherine Howk

Catherine B. Howk, 88, of Unionville, Iowa, died Tuesday March 16th at Mercy Medical Center in Centerville. She was born on April 30, 1915 to Delmar and Frona (Chambers) Hiatt at Unionville, Iowa. She married Verner DeWayne Howk at Unionville, Iowa in 1946. He preceded her in death in 1977. Catherine was a homemaker and a member of the United Methodist Church in Unionville. She enjoyed gardening and spending time with her family. She is survived by a son Max Howk and his wife Jana of Glendale, Az; daughter Jean Clemens of Centerville; son-in-law Dale Brinegar of Unionville, Iowa; 8 grandchildren and 7 great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her husband Verner; daughter Mary Brinegar; parents; Delmar and Frona and an infant brother. Funeral Services will be held 10:00 a.m. Saturday March 20, 2004 at Unionville Methodist Church, with Pastor Joann Ervin officiating. Burial will follow at the Unionville Cemetery in Unionville, Iowa. Visitation will be held all day Friday at Thomas Lange Funeral Home with the family present from 6-8 p.m..
