Judith A. Chovanec, age 63, of Lorain, passed away peacefully at Stein Hospice in Sandusky on Sunday August 19, 2018. Born in Lorain on September 2, 1954, she was a life-long resident of the city. Judy was a 1972 graduate of Admiral King High School where she was third runner-up Trident Queen in her senior year there.

She was formerly employed as an adminsitartive aid by both Ed's Transmission Service of Elyria, and Ed Mullinax Ford of Amherst; Judy had also worked for eighteen years as a switchboard operator at the former Lorain Community Hospital, and fifteen years in the same capacity at the former Elyria Memorial Hospital.

She was a life-long parishioner of Holy Trinity Church in Lorain and was a member of St. Ann's Lodge Branch 114 of the First Slovak Catholic Ladies Union, the Slovak Catholic Sokols Wreath 111, and the American Slovak Club. She was also a supporter of the Sacred Heart Mission, the Silesian Missions, and the Oblates Missionary Society of the Little Flowers of Life.

Judy was known for her truthfulness and straight forwardness and was always able to get her point across with the addition of a hint of humor.

yle James Chovanec of Lorain, sister Linda Lewyckyj of Vermilion, and brother Joseph (Nancy) Chovanec residing in Meridian, Texas. She also leaves a host of nieces and nephews.

Judy was preceded in death by her parents Joseph and Virginia (nee Staveski) Chovanec, by brothers Thomas, Charles, and John Chovanec, and sister Mary Lou Shawver.
