Jerome Joseph Schneberger, 96, formerly of Cedar Rapids died Thursday, August 23, 2018 in Ellisville, MO. Funeral Mass: 10:30 a.m., Friday, September 14, 2018 at St. Patrick Catholic Church by Rev. Ivan Nienhaus. Burial: Mt. Calvary Cemetery with Military Honors by the Veterans of Foreign Wars Post 788. A Vigil will be held at 4 p.m., Thursday at Teahen Funeral Home, where friends may visit with the family until 7 p.m., and Friday after 9:30 a.m., at the church.
Jerome is survived by a son, Dean (Cathy) of Chesterfield, MO; a daughter, Jane (Kent) Raney of Carlsbad, NM; seven grandchildren, Martha, Mathew (Cary), Micah, and David Schneberger and Jedd (Daria), Caitlin (Brandon Estes), and Jacob Raney; 8 great-grandchildren;
Jerome is preceded in death by his wife Frances; infant son Larry; a sister, Darlene Luzum; and three brothers, Cyril who was killed in WWII, William, Jr., and Donald.

edar Rapids. She died on January 30, 2004. He enlisted in the Navy in 1941, and survived the Pearl Harbor attacks of December 7th , 1941 aboard the USS Raleigh. He was discharged in 1947 as a Chief Shipfitter. In 1987, he retired as a Layout Man from Universal Engineering, where he worked for 40 years. He was a lifetime member of the National Pearl Harbor Survivors Association, the USS Raleigh CL7 Association, the VFW Post 788, and the Machinist Union Local 831.
Jerome enjoyed spending time with his family, working in his garden, being outdoors, and hunting and fishing.
