Age 87, of Seattle died Wednesday, August 29, 2018 at Seattle Veterans Affairs Hospital. Private Burial was held at Evergreen Washelli Cemetery of North Seattle.
Robert was born September 29, 1930, in Guangdong, China, and immigrated to the United States as a young boy. He married Homie Tuai on January 5, 1962, in Seattle; she passed on April 8, 1999. Survivors include his three sons and their families: Robert Chung Jr. and Anaya Destan of Seattle and their two children, Tyler and Cella; Jeffrey Chung and Sonja Kwon of Illinois and their son, Jonathon; Kevin and Junko Chung of Seattle and their son, Ren. He is also survived by Mary Lim Chow Yong, his companion of 16 years. Robert accomplished his goal of moving all his siblings to North America where they all have become citizens and raised families. He served in the US Army during the Korean War. Afterwards, he attended and played football for the University of Washington and went on to work for the Seattle Parks Department and Shoreline Public Schools as a physical education teacher.
