How Did We Do?

"Scooter" passed away peacefully surrounded by his parents, Don Fincke and Rita Ingram and his sisters, Donna Murr, Renee Wheeler, Kate Cloonan and Joanna Arndt.

He was born in Anchorage, Alaska but grew up in West Seattle. He graduated Holy Rosary Grade School and O'Dea High School - Class of 1975. After many years of traveling the country, he pursued his passion for history, English and culinary arts. He received a BA from Evergreen State College with a degree in History and English Literature. He also studied Culinary Arts at South Seattle Community College. Scott's other passions included music, especially the Grateful Dead, art, Seattle sports teams, cigars, Christmas and reading; but most of all his love for family and friends.

Over the last three years, Scott resumed his abstract art painting and was featured on the front cover of Northwest Kidney Centers' Community Connection. His art made an impact on several members of the health care community who cared for him. Some of these wonderful caregivers purchased some of this art, which made him very proud.

Scott is survived by his Mother and Step Father, Rita and Wes Ingram; his Father, Don Fincke and partner, Barb McBride; Donna and Ilias Murr, Renee and Peter Wheeler, Kate Cloonan and Robert Ruiz and Joanna and Terry Arndt. Nieces and Nephews - Zach and Nate Wheeler, Ann Cloonan, Max and Maggie McLeod and Joseph Arndt.

We will miss Scott's intellect, humor, whit, unconditional love and his compassion for others.

Funeral Mass will be celebrated Friday, September 28th 2018 at Holy Rosary Catholic Church at 1:00 P.M.
4139 42nd Ave. S. W., Seattle, WA. 98116

In lieu of flowers the family is requesting donations to the Northwest Kidney Centers

The 2015 reunion, the fortieth for our class, was a special event marked by a commitment to reconnect. Scott showed that passion to see his brothers and simply hang out and talk about the past and the present. Like us all, his path was marked by triumph and failure, and many of us were not shy to talk about both; we laughed, we listened, we commisserated. We have enjoyed the company of our classmates several times since, and Scott loved to get a chance to see the guys. It was so good to see Scott's FB posts and to know that he wanted us to see how he was doing, even though he struggled with his health. Scott, my brother, may you rest in peace and know that we carry your bright spirit in our memories.

Scott say hi to my mom and dad, I'm sure they will remember all the time we spent together rest in peace my brother. I remember when you were walking home on Steven's street near Barnies house and stepped off curb and your ankle blew apart it was way more than a broken ankle but you were a trooper, I'll miss you it was great to see you last year when I was in Seattle. Will miss you my friend. Having known you so long, our time still feels cut short. You became a stand up guy with how you endured through the turmoil. You'll never be far from my thoughts. Keeping all the Fincke family in prayers.
